about
This album is the original music score from "Mandala", Soft Cage Films' 2017 production and the final of the three short films that comprise the series, "Human Capital".
The music constitutes the inner life of the film's central character: a longtime high school janitor whose knowledge of the building thrusts him into reluctant leadership during a crisis at a political event hosted at the school. This crisis leaves him on a course within the fever dream of panic around him to prevent his worst fears from manifesting and to cling desperately to truth itself as it vanishes into his otherworldly surroundings.

about
This album is the original music score from "Breaking", Soft Cage Films' 2016 production and the second of the three short films to comprise the "Anthropology Anthology".
The music constitutes the inner life of the film's central character: a devoted mother to her son and caretaker to her vain and controlling mother in law. She is a professional caretaker to the children and house of a wealthy local politician. With all of her energy focused on the care of others, she finds herself caught beneath the wheel as she is pushed to the brink by internal and external pressures that build to a breaking point.

about
This album is the original music score from "Pilgrim", Soft Cage's 2015 production and the first of the three short films to comprise the "Anthropology Anthology".
The music constitutes the inner life of the film's central character: a West African immigrant who believes he is the final figure of the frontier upholding classic cowboy values as he drives his taxi around Chicago and wields justice as he sees fit.

about
Film composer and jazz bassist John Sutton's debut album as a bandleader, Graffito. Like the film by the same name, the Graffito album invites the listener into the process with behind-the-scenes banter, false starts, irreverence, and palpable joy.
